The University of California, Los Angeles Athletic Department and Bruin Basketball are pleased to join forces with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) and Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA for the 11th Anniversary of the Dribble for the Cure event at UCLA.
Sunday, October 14, 2018
UCLA Campus at Drake Stadium
Head coaches of the Bruin Men's and Women's basketball teams and the UCLA Athletic Department have dedicated their support in honor of this celebratory event. Together we will raise funds for pediatric cancer research through the Cancer Research Program at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA.
Every year our Donors and Dribblers have helped PCRF break fundraising records without fail. This year we hope to crush our fundraising goal of $160,000 in fundraising to help find the cure for pediatric cancer - are you in?
8:30am - Registration opens and Dribble for the Cure Festival opens
10:00am - Welcome Ceremony
10:15am - Start of Dribble for the Cure course
11:15am - Finish Line Festivities at Pauley Pavilion
This fun-filled day gives you the opportunity to meet the UCLA basketball teams and head coaches. Everyone will receive a Dribble for the Cure t-shirt and goodie bag. Don't forget to bring your own basketball (or buy one online) so you can Dribble for the Cure along a 1-mile course that winds through the UCLA campus. The event will feature a festival of games, autographs and pictures with players, along with food and entertainment. We challenge you to fundraise leading up to the event. Your fundraising will allow you to be eligible for prizes based on the amount of pledge money turned in by the date of the event.
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation has utilized a social fundraising platform for more than a decade. It increases awareness of our mission, and it increases funding for the ever expanding footprint that PCRF is developing across the nation. Less than 4% of NIH cancer research dollars are spent on pediatric cancers. For far too long, babies and children have been receiving scaled down adult treatments that often leave survivors with lasting effects and a very high probability of additional cancers in the future. At PCRF we stand vigilant in our mission to fund research that improves the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant disease. Thank you for joining in the fight.
