Welcome to My Personal Page
My son, Carter was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 2, 2015 at the age of 4. He fought hard and never gave up and was kicking ALL's butt. Unfortunately Leukemia can be tricky and on Wednesday July 5, 2017 his parents got the news they never wanted to hear, Carter had relapsed. The next couple of months were filled with new treatments and hospital stays. In true Carter style he endured it all with his courageous smile. On October 8, 2017 Carter passed away due to complications from a rare infection that occured due to chemotherapy treatments. Carter continues to inspire his friends and family to spread kindness every day. He is missed forever. Few people ever get to meet their hero, I'm lucky enough I gave birth to mine. #Carterstrongforever
Approximately 14,000 children a year in the US hear the words, “You have cancer.” That averages out to 46 kids a day who are diagnosed. Sadly, 7 children die from cancer daily and 60% of survivors deal with chronic illnesses and late term effects from treatment. Pediatric cancer research funding is less than 4% of the NIH funding for cancers. Progress is dependent upon private funding sources.
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to raising funds that go directly to research that improves the care, quality of life, and survival rate of children with malignant disease. Currently PCRF is funding 11 different institutions across the country. I have chosen to support this four star charity in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to support this important cause in some way. Also, consider joining my team or forwarding this to someone else who may wish to be involved. Research is the key to advancing pediatric cancer treatments and cures.
