Help Me Raise Money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation
My dear friend Erin and her beautiful little daughter Sierra are currently in the midst of the most arduous journey -- on a seemingly neverending path filled with medications and procedures and hospital stays as they battle heroically to free Sierra's body from the clutches of pediatric cancer.
I am continiously in awe of their strength, perserverance, and beautiful spirits, all of which shine brighter than any shadow cast by Sierra's illness.
I often feel helpless here in California as Erin, Sierra, and their family continue their fight at the world-renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, so I've decided to try to raise some money.
Approximately 14,000 children a year in the US hear the words, “You have cancer.” Pediatric cancer research funding is less than 4% of the NIH funding for cancers. Progress is dependent upon private funding sources.
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to raising funds that go directly to research that improves the care, quality of life, and survival rate of children with malignant disease. Currently PCRF is funding 11 different institutions across the country. I have chosen to support this four star charity in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to support this important cause in some way. Also, consider forwarding this to someone else who may wish to be involved. Research is the key to advancing pediatric cancer treatments and cures.
