Welcome to Andrew Namoury's Personal Page and Story
PCRF is soo important to me in my life because of how much this cause has directly impacted my life. I was a Junior in College when I was diagnosed with cancer. I still remember the moment the doctor told me I had Cancer like it was yesterday. He walked into the room and broke the news to me that a tumor was found in my brain which they believed was cancerous. At that moment my mind just went blank. I couldn’t think I couldn’t feel I couldn’t do anything but sit and stare at the doctor in shock. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have cancer. I will never forget the moments where my mother walked into that hospital room and the doctor uttered the words “cancer”. That moment changed my life forever……
Thankfully I was lucky enough to be diagnosed with a treatable form of cancer and eventhough the road to recovery was a long one it was all made possible with the support of all my family and friends and is the reason why I have been cancer free for the last 10 years. PCRF is one of the foundations that gives people like me the hope in beating cancer. My experience with cancer made me realize that I am not alone in the fight against pediatric cancer and that we need to do more to help as many people as we can that are diagnosed with this horrible disease.
Approximately 14,000 children a year in the US hear the words, “You have cancer.” Help us make sure that those words can be followed with, “But we have a cure.” Pediatric cancer research funding is less than 4% of the NIH funding for cancers. Progress is dependent upon private funding sources.
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to raising funds that go directly to research that improves the care, quality of life, and survival rate of children with malignant disease. Currently PCRF is funding 11 different institutions across the country. I have chosen to support this four star charity in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to support this important cause in some way. Also, consider joining my team or forwarding this to someone else who may wish to be involved. Research is the key to advancing pediatric cancer treatments and cures.
